Synapse Chapter Requirements
To be considered in good standing with Synapse National, chapters are required to:

Have a faculty advisor at their university.

Have official student organization status at their university.

Host a twice monthly peer support group to provide social support for individuals with brain injury.

Provide training for student volunteers prior to their participation in any programs serving individuals with brain injury. This training must be facilitated by a professional who works with individuals with brain injury or has training in navigating mental health crises. Have a contingency plan for emergency situations that may arise in the course of working with individuals with brain injury. Additional guidelines and example contingency plans are available through the Chapter Hub.
